Re: Definite Problem With New SRX-11
<t>I apologize if I got so defensive.<br/> <br/> I just don't want to get into SRX11 finite detail until I've given a good evaluation both at home and gigging. I agree that certain artifacts and overtones can add character to the sound. I remeber when I first got the SRX02, I initially hated the pia...

Re: Ksounds Pianos
<t>I couldn't have said it better than OboeDoctor. <br/> <br/> I've only tried the Fantom-X piano at a noisy music store once for a few minutes, so I don't really have any experience with it. I use a Fantom S88.<br/> <br/> As far as the SRX-11, I'm using it tonight at a gig. Initially, I find the SR...

Re: Ksounds Pianos
<t>I have the Ksounds samples on my Triton Studio 88 and they are really, really good. Actually, fantastic. The Steinway 75MB samples gave me goosebumps the first time I played it.<br/> <br/> I also have the SRX02 & SRX11 in my Fanton S88. The Ksounds plays and sounds worlds ahead of any rompler...

Re: Definite Problem With New SRX-11
<t>Do you feel better?<br/> <br/> What I was saying is tone and playability parameters are worthy of discussion. <br/> <br/> I said I would use it at a gig this weekend before offering further opinion. I just gave an initial impression. I can assure you I'm quite knowledgable and aware with any deta...

Re: Definite Problem With New SRX-11
<t>Just trying to help some folks. That's cool if you don't want negative opinions.<br/> <br/> Analytical? - are you concerned about the tone and playability of your instrument? <br/> <br/> <br/> My opinions are based on real playing. Unnatural rings and pings and noises and velocity switching probl...

Re: Definite Problem With New SRX-11
<t>No, I'm not a Korg employee. Actually Korg's piano samples sound and play poor to me. The Ksounds samples are from a 3rd party developer.<br/> <br/> I'm hoping to port them over to my Fantom when I get my hands on a good mutlisample editor.<br/> <br/> I will say that it definitely has that Roland...

Re: Definite Problem With New SRX-11
<t>I got my SRX-11 last night. Only had about 10 mins. with it.<br/> I use a Fantom S-88. I had to upgrade my OS to 1.9.<br/> <br/> My initial impression is I'm quite dissapointed. There are velocity swithing problems, wierd sounding notes, unnatural decays, and some ploinky sounding samples. (that ...

chubbylove,
Misinformation is here but not where you think.
Maybe you should have read the thread.
He's talking about a motherboard replacement, not a software upgrade.

Re: ** Fantom-S owners PETITION **
I agree completely with this petition.
It's something that should have been done already.
I purposely haven't been buying any other Roland gear, and don't plan on getting an X.
Updating the S would help change my attitude.

Re: Just wait until you see what Alesis ...
<t>If it's priced in the neighborhood or lower than Fantom-X, Triton EX, or Motif ES, it's really going to shake-up the workstation market. It has 8 indiviual inputs! 40GB harddrive, CDRW coming. All those synth types - Wow.<br/> <br/> I think it's great. Bet we'll see a bunch of lower prices for th...

Re: SRX 11 Complete piano and XR V2
<t>As far as the SRX-02, we're all entitled to our opinions. I can't say I agree with your Steinway analogy. That's like saying recordings from the 50's don't sound dated.<br/> <br/> A Steinway is a benchmark. An SRX-02 is not. It's a product of technology. Digital piano technology has improved sinc...

Re: SRX 11 Complete piano and XR V2
<t>I'm hoping the 'Complete Piano' means an all new acoustic piano, and some really good vintage rhodes and EP sounds. I'd like to see them jump ahead of Yamaha.<br/> <br/> <br/> <br/> It would seem that the new piano might be the X piano, although if they make something better, then everyone will b...

Re: What SRX Cards are you wishing ...
<t>No offense, but you wouldn't need a 64MB set of SRX samples to create the patches of metal rock. All you would need is someone to program the patches using the base rom, or even better the SRX07. <br/> <br/> I've got an exact (or very convincing) 'Jump', 'I'll Wait', 'Midnight Blue', 'ABACAB', 'R...

Re: Fantom-X OS 2.0 coming at NAMM?
<t>Although that's likely true, I wish they would support us 'S' owners as we deserve. For me it would go a long way as far as customer loyalty and due support to update the 'S' as well. Correct a wrong if you will. <br/> <br/> I would bet that the update will include automated 'in-track sampling'. ...
