Re: MV-8800 Will Not Arm Track For Recording
Sounds like you have a bad tact switch. This is common in most synths/samplers. It's a pain, but ultimately an easy fix. I would take it to a music store for repair. Shouldn't cost very much. Maybe $50. Good luck with that amazingly under-rated instrument. Mine is named Wolfgang, and he would kill f...

Re: Resampling with X8 sucks?
Just noticed your post... Recently I've done quite a bit of testing when emphasis is needed and when it isn't. I left a pretty detailed post about it in a post titled: Is emphasis needed after skip back sampling? Or something to that effect. The answer is no. Regular sampling and skip back do not re...

audio input on/off assigned to a key?
First off, my audio input on off switch is dying. I was wondering if there's any way to assign it to a pad or a key... Then I thought if it were assigned to a key it could really be used as an interesting creative toon. If I were able to have audio coming in only sound when a certain pad/key is held...

Re: Emphasize needed for Resampling/skip back?
RESULTS: Emphasis is not needed on Skip Back samples I could be wrong, as the tests I did were all done by ear alone. Though once I realized what it was I was looking for, it seemed pretty obvious. Here's what I did: First, I found a sample of a splash type cymbol. I sampled a quick rhythm using onl...

Re: Emphasize needed for Resampling/skip back?
Okay I see that you definately need to Emphasize when resampling, but do you need to emphasize skip back samples?

Emphasize needed for Resampling/skip back?
Posted a link in the MV forums, but thought I might get a heads up here. I'll just paste this: "Actually, I just ran a few tests... For some reason, Roland seems to sort of sample only in its own format in a way. (If I'm getting this right.) If you drop a wav file from the MV, or the fantom, on...

Stereo samples to mono?
I've always wondered if there was a way to do this. I have a lot of old samples recorded in stereo from a mono source. Is there any way to erase either the left or right side to restore some of the memory? Is resampling the best way?

Better Tact Switches... HELP!
This is a problem with most electronic equipment eventually; The buttons stop working. I have had to replace a few of the tact switches on my Fantom before, but it seems like I need to have it done again. Does anyone know of higher quality tact switches to use that will last longer?

Re: Assign sample problem when using MIDI
I tried that, but it just held every note on in some kind of midi mix up. What did end up working was adjusting what was transmitted. I ended up turning off the transmit bank select and edit data. Thanks for the idea.

Assign sample problem when using MIDI
Greetings! Having a strange issue. I recently got myself an MV8800, amazing instrument, and I'm using it to sequence my Fantom x6. Here's the situation: I'm in multi mode, and I'm in the sample editer. I edit the sample then assign it to track 6. Track six now has whatever is assigned to the very fi...
