Re: Fantom-G open patch archive
Cyclops, I know it's been some time since you've posted your Grand Piano patch on Nav's site but I wanted to thank you. I started to play the Piano just over 2 years ago now and a was a bit dissapointed with the Piano selection on the G8. You've filled the gap. I wrote my first Solo Piano track last...

Re: A New User Piano!
<t>Hey guys, this might be an obvious one but here it is: <br/> <br/> When I'm in Live mode and select the Real Grand 2.0 patch it sounds wonderful. I just assumed that I'd be able to take the three patches that combine to make the Real Grand 2.0 (161, 162, 163) - flip it over to Studio mode and tur...

Re: Re-sampling - Write / Save does not route to DIMM
Got it, so the likely fix here is to save my Project to the USB drive which will then route any subsequent Audio exports to that project file.
Thanks piaknowguy.

Re: Re-sampling - Write / Save does not route to DIMM
<t>"Please note that without expanded sample RAM and USB flash drive, there may be not sufficient space for you to record and export your song." <br/> <br/> Is this not an indication that when exporting a song as audio through Re-sampling that the export utilizes Sample Ram, even if in a temporary s...

Re: Re-sampling - Write / Save does not route to DIMM
Yup, been there already just to confirm I wasn't missing anything. So I guess the simple question is - Shouldn't Resampling output files route to the "Sample RAM" / 1GB DIMM?
That's not happening and I'm trying to figure out why.

Re-sampling - Write / Save does not route to DIMM
<t>Hey guys, looking for some help here. I've got a 1GB DIMM loaded in my FG8 and according to the system information it's 97% free (970MB).. basically unused. When I look at the system storage it's about 70% used. I've created a song (2 minutes) to which I wanted to Re-Sample to my DIMM but can't q...

recording Automation w/ MFX (on Wet/Dry settings)
<t>Hey guys, I'm hoping to automate the MFX1 output on a patch, essentially controlling the wet/dry ratio but for some reason I don't see it as an option. <br/> <br/> I went through the Menu/System Knob+Slider setup page and don't see that as an option (btw, I have the slider mode to catch, Knob &am...

Re: Layering cutoff & resonance onto a recorded Midi track
<r>Figured this out for those who see my topic and are wondering how to do the same thing - the keyword I should have used should have been "automation". The trick here is to go to the system menu, knob/slider menu and flip the knob slider mode to "catch" which as the manual so eloquently puts it wi...
Re: Autotune
Artemiy, the Mike Acosta from NAMM Video sold me on the VP-7. I saw several others but I think he did the best job in discussing Midi inclusion, re-sampling & other creative playback scenarios using the VP-7 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=359BXCi8GRE&feature=related My question is do you thi...

Re: Layering cutoff & resonance onto a recorded Midi track
<t>Thanks for the reply Cyclops. I definitely know how to assign cutoff & resonance to the sliders, it sounds like you're suggesting I go into the patch pro edit menu and assign them to that specific sounds. I'll have to try that tonight. <br/> <br/> In a nutshell I recorded a couple of phrases ...

Layering cutoff & resonance onto a recorded Midi track
<t>Hey guys, picked up my Fantom G8 last week and am trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong with my layering efforts. I appear to be getting inconsistent results upon playback after manipulating Cutoff Frequency & Resonance settings against a recorded MIDI track. I tried priming the recording...

Good stuff Atlas, thanks for the reply. I agree with you on the D-beam bit. I'm assuming you can disable the functionality of the beam?
If I ever need to use it I'll just slide the JP over a bit..
