Re: Roland Fantom G & Cubase 5?

Hi Dave, You don't need to use to the VST Editor in order to record in Cubase. The problem with the disabled menus has been reported various times the last 2 years, also by me: http://forums.rolandclan.com/index.php?action=show_thre... There doesn't seem to be a way to contact Roland and I don't thi...

Re: Roland Fantom G & Cubase 5?

<t>Hi Dave, <br/> <br/> Don't try to use the VST Editor, you'll not get it working. DAW integration is not one of the Fantom's strong points. I used the following workflow with satisfactory results: <br/> for each Cubase song I create a corresponding - empty - song on the Fantom G. On the G I select...

Re: DAWS and Audio Recording

I tried to keep quiet but have to speak up: don't buy a Mac or anything else from Apple unless you're a succer for gadgets and don't mind being sucked into their closed system designed to squeeze you for your last penny.
Real men value functionality over design, i.e.: Cubase, on Windows.

Re: Cubase 5 and the Fantom-G

<t>So why start now? <br/> <br/> I've read about this problem in various threads on other forums. Of course it's a problem in the VST editor, in so far that it should but does not work correctly with Cubase (5). <br/> <br/> I've learned to work around this problem by simply not using the VST editor....

Re: strange noise on my fantom

I have the same problem, especially at the left side of the keyboard. Loosening (not tightening) a screw helped somewhat (but the sounds is still there). I seem to remember reading another post about this issue. I think it's an engineering oversight.

Re: question about fantom g drumkits?

<t>> i was curious if alot of you guys use the fantoms stock drumkits? <br/> <br/> To be honest, I find the Fantom G's stock drum kits rather unimpressive, and therefore not very inspirational. The same holds for the stock rhythm patterns, they pretty much sound all the same to me, very much hip hop...

Re: Just too many problems...

<r>Nice to see that my thread is getting up to speed. <br/> I think I speak for everyone if I summarize the discussion as follows <E>;-)</E> <br/> <br/> - The G is a great synthesizer. <br/> - It has a flawed file system, which is at the root of its internal working so it can't be much improved. <br...

Re: Fantom G ->Cubase (record problem)?

Hi Quinxx, I'm using Cubase 5. In fact, I can manage with it, but I always save a separate song on the G that corresponds to my Cubase project. Here is a thread discussing some issues: http://forums.rolandclan.com/index.php?action=show_thre... By the way, I would love to know how/if I can control Cu...

<r>Hi guys, Thanks for the constructive feedback, I really appreciate it. Let me start by saying that I found a work-around for one of my biggest problems, so I feel somewhat more positive <E>:-)</E>. <br/> <br/> When I bought my G I had a faint hope that I could do most editing without a DAW, on th...

Just too many problems...

<t>When I just got my G and found this forum, 6 weeks ago, I was very happy with it, despite of some obvious shortcomings. I didn't understand why so many people where complaining all the time. But now that I've spent some more time with it I have to conclude that there are just too many problems. I...

Re: Cubase 5 and the Fantom-G

<t>Thanks for the reactions. <br/> <br/> I think no, the Editor will only manually load the data from the Fantom, correct? The editor is not exactly integrated with the board, it merely sends MIDI data back and forth telling it what to do. <br/> <br/> What a shame! I see no reason why it shouldn't b...
