Im gutted i opted for the MV over the 5000.

Workflow sucks. Build quality sucks. Its slow. Its ugly.

Im happy if theyre discontinued. If I look after mine it will eventually be worth a mint, especially if somebody comes up with a better way to get 512mb in there (which im sure they will). I love my MV.

<t>NNITRED - I kind of agree with what you're saying, but even at entry level a pair of powered studio monitors will give a flatter response than some home speakers and home amp - as the home hi-fi amp will DEFINITLEY add 'flavours' that you dont want in a studio - they sound very warm in my opinion...

Buy some powered monitors ideally.

<t>You can try doing the same to the plugs for your speakers or amp too depending on what youre using. I had the same issue with a korg microX keyboard, I could 'hear' the DCO oscillating like a swoosh in the background noise... it didnt register in any recordings but it made monitoring anything nea...
