Re: BAD NEWS

Hi Stevie, I am doing this at work, so when the boss came by I must have hit post 3 times. I couldn't work out how to delete my posts.

I hear whoosing on some patches and a type of 'phasing' 'swirling' sound on others (some of the string sounds for example)

Re: BAD NEWS

When I spoke to Simon on the phone he confirmed that the 2nd board (the one in the unit at the moment - the upgrade) was of an earlier batch AND did not contain the newer DACs. And when I said I can hear some whooshing on some patches he immediately said send it in.

<t>Hi Stevie and sb1, my Fantom is the XR rack, so I do not know if it applies to your units.<br/> <br/> Anyway, I original e-mailed 'support' on the Roland UK website. This was on Monday 24th Jan and I got a reply back the next day (Tues 25th). <br/> I included these details as suggested by Arjan (...

re 2nd mainboard

<t>I phoned Roland UK and they are picking up the Fantom in the next 2 days to fit the 2nd newer mainboard. There is apparently a problem with DACs.<br/> <br/> Those of you who had the 1st one fitted should get on to Roland support and get it. Hopefully this is the last change I have to do.<br/> <br...

Re: Using JV / XV patches (from CD) with Fantom XR

<t>Thanxs everyone for the advice. <br/> <br/> FatBoyJim, you say you got it to work using the Fantom-S software librarian, but when I phoned Roland UK they told me that the XR was a like Fantom X and as such had different 'architecture' to a Fantom S. And so it would not be able to take the SR-JV '...

Re: Using JV / XV patches (from CD) with Fantom XR

<t>Hi Nathan, I do not know what type the CD is. It came in the box with the SRX6 expansion card. <br/> <br/> The 'manual' in the box says that the SRX6 has all the waveforms of the SR-JV80-02/13/16 and some of the JV80-07 cards. But not the original patches from those SR-JV cards. It has new patche...
