Re: Possible to switch XR between Perf & Patch with Midi?

If you are still interrested, I did it with my custom controller I built. I can tell you how to do it. Just need to go look at my code to remember what I had done to switch it from Perf to Patch

Re: Windows 7 drivers for Fantom-X

Hey cminor. I have been using Windows 7 64 bit with my Fantom XR since December and I never had problems. But I did not try the editor since. I'm almost afraid to try it now because I don't want to screw up my beloved XR!

Re: Windows 7 drivers for Fantom-X

<t>I highly doubt that the new driver is responsible for what you are seeing. I installed it and I also own an XR and I have no problems. Plus the driver will not modify anything in the XR, it is just an interface for Windows 7 to talk to the XR so I would really doubt it created the problem. <br/> ...

Re: Windows 7 drivers for Fantom-X

Thanks for posting that here Art. I would have never knowned otherwise. Even if I suscribed to the Roland newsletters, I did not hear about it! I tried and it works really great with Windows 7 64 bits!

Thanks Again!

Re: can this be done on an X8?

<t>Although I highly doubt this was done realtime, I noticed that he was using a midi foot controler (either Roland or behringer) so maybe he is trigering some samples and controlling a multitrack sequencer of some sort. He also seem to have a lot of equipment in his rack (I think I saw two Fantom-X...

Re: I never turn off my Fantom X8 off. Is that OK?

<t>Component lifetime is in fact an issue. <br/> <br/> When your Fantom is ON, and you don't play or press any buttons, you might think it is not doing anything and that is stays cool. This is not true. The CPU will continue making computations and scanning the buttons and leds, so it is actually ru...

Re: Fantom X Live Commander - LIVE sound switching software

Hey Arjan, As for the pedal thing, I was thinking about the project I did which sends midi messages when I press one of the four pedals i have. Now this thing is customized for my use with my setup, but it could work with your software easily with slight changes in my code. Also, if you design your ...

Re: Fantom X Live Commander - LIVE sound switching software

<t>Nice work Arjan! <br/> This seems like a neet tool! <br/> <br/> If you want help, I would be happy to help you with the coding or with the design on my spare time. <br/> <br/> I would also like to suggest to add a module that can handle an input from either a serial, USB or midi port that would b...

Re: best contoller for fantom xr

<t>cminor, your previous post was not really respectful. Laughing at another member's gear is not really nice. I'm not a pro keyboard player so this keyboard suits me fine. I don't have any problems with mine and I like it. Now if you don't like this controller it is your choice but don't laugh when...

Re: best contoller for fantom xr

<t>Here is what I use: <br/> <br/> M-Audio Oxygen 49: Has a lot of assignable pots, buttons and sliders so you can have them control different parameters of the XR. The keys are not weighted so it is more synth style than piano style and it does not have after touch. <br/> <br/> M-Audio Keystation 6...

Re: Possible to select FanX Performances from another keyboa

<t>I don't know about your keyboard, but I know I could not do it the way I wanted with my M-Audio Oxygen 49 controller. This is why I built my custom patch change box. And unfortunatly, the only way to switch from patch to performance and vice versa is to send a sysex command. I tried everything el...

To the ones that wanted to see pics of my patch change box, here they are: http://www.box.net/shared/rz1gavosgc You'll see my whole studio, my drums, my gear rack, my patch change box (different views, I did my best for the pictures), my custom ribbon controller and my pedals to change patches. Re: Possible to select FanX Performances from another keyboa

<t>Hi guys, <br/> <br/> I actually built a module that adds different features to my midi rig (which is actually two m-audio midi controllers, a Motu midi processor, a Yamaha TG-55, A Korg 05/RW and a Fantom XR) <br/> <br/> So my box is based on a Microchip Pic 18f4520, and has a patch change pedal ...

Re: Possible to select FanX Performances from another keyboa

<t>I can send you the exact things to send as I have built a patch change module with pedals for my fantom XR. You need to send a sysex command to switch to performance mode and then different things to change the performance number (and even go through preset, user and card performances) <br/> <br/...
