Re: Midi Merge

<t>I use a Studiologic SL-1100, instead of the 880. It has a MIDI-in so I sometimes connect some other MIDI device to that and the output includes what I play on the 1100 merged with that other device. If you're buying a controller, I'd suggest the SL-1100. It has the same excellent-feel keyboard as...

Re: "irish" folk patches

SRX-06, Complete Orchestra, has six bodhran patches. It also has five tin whistle patches.

Re: MIDI Connections Question

You need a MIDI merge device. There are several on the market. The cheapest cost about $75-80USD and have two inputs and one output.

Re: SRX Boards' Rising Prices

<t>tonedef: Good point. I was just looking at the SRX boards that I actually need.<br/> <br/> At the moment, zzounds.com has some B-stock SRX boards which they're selling for $169.95 (as you said). They also have some SRX boards that were opened in the store or the warehouse that they're selling for...

Re: SRX Boards' Rising Prices

tonedef: zzounds.com is selling the SRX boards for $249.95 right now. Kraft Music is selling them for $235.95.

I can't remember a time when zzounds.com had the cheapest price for anything.

Re: Coakley piano vs. SRX-11

<t>I haven't played any pianos except the Coakley Perfect Piano Volume V since I got it. Coakley's Hamberg Steinway D feels like a Steinway concert grand in a way that the Ultimate, So True, and other Roland pianos don't. It has the depth and sustain of a BIG piano. It is also capable of going from ...

Re: SRX Boards' Rising Prices

Good suggestion, Rordog. Kraftmusic.com is selling SRX-10 for $235.95USD. That's still pretty high, but better than $250.00.

I'm still hoping that the logjam on eBay of SRX-02s and SRX-11s breaks.

SRX Boards' Rising Prices

<t>A year ago, the street price of most of the SRX boards was $220USD. Six months ago, it rose to $240USD. In the last week, it's risen to $250USD. I'm talking about the prices listed when you Google an SRX board then methodically go through several pages of listings looking for the lowest price. Th...

Good to hear you're more or less getting back to normal. Welcome back and good luck in your new home.

Re: SRX-03 Studio - Review request

<t>Something more: if I wanted to lay down a saxophone section, I'd record the lead with my alto myself. Then I'd record the inside parts (2nd alto, 1st and 2nd tenor) with the Fantom/SRX-03. If the baritone has any exposed parts, I'd record them myself on my bari. If not, I'd use the baritone sax p...

Re: SRX-03 Studio - Review request

<t>I have an SRX-03 installed in my Fantom XR, but I don't really know where to begin to give you a "detailed review." From your questions, it sounds like you want some subjective reaction to the various patches, but I'm not sure that will help you very much.<br/> <br/> I like several of the Rhodes ...

Re: MIDI Cables

Hi FraXTC. Yes, I have a Fantom. An XR. My MIDI controller must be connected to the XR with MIDI cables. The controller doesn't use USB. So far, I've made all my own cables. The advantage is that I get exactly the length that I need and, since I buy high quality parts and cable, I get good quality. ...

MIDI Cables

<t>Do you buy your MIDI cables or make your own?<br/> <br/> I've heard that some of the MIDI cables on the market connect all five pins of the DIN plug, which does not conform to the MIDI spec. If you buy your cables, which vendor's do you get? Are they wired properly?<br/> <br/> Thanks.<br/> <br/> ...
