Re: DOES ANYONE THINK THAT SEQUENCEING IN PROTOOLS IS EASIER

<t>I think audio editing is great in pro tools--I'm saving up to get it for my home project studio--but as far as actually sequencing and arranging? I'll stick with my FS sequencer. I've got a good amount of experience with MIDI (I've been working with it since 1999, my freshman year in high school)...

Re: MIDI Tracks in Pro Tools

simply arm each track you want to record on and assign it to a different channel (which corresponds to whatever part the instrument in the fantom is on)...your settings depend on which machine you want to be the master--your fantom, or your computer...

Re: I know this isn't a Protools forum but..

Cakewalk Home Studio, SONAR, I'll go ahead and say Cubase and Reason...

Pro Tools is industry standard though, so that would be the logical investment if you are trying to avoid having to recreate your pieces...

Re: Pro Tools LE

to kinda speed up the process, you have 4 outs on the Fantom, and you can assign each part to its own output channel...that's about all I can say now though...I'm not versed enough in protools yet to give you a direct answer yet...

Re: HELP WITH SEQUENCING PATTERNS.....!!????

<t>also, when you do pattern calling...it doesn't really matter what track you call the patterns to. Try to think of each instrument as its own channel, rather than its own track...all of your mutes and things are recorded to the CHANNEL in RPS/Pattern mode, so you don't have to worry about any trac...

Re: HELP WITH SEQUENCING PATTERNS.....!!????

<t>If you have your breaks and mutes programmed into the patterns (either by manual editing, or recording the automation), you should be able to do the pattern call > song mode method and get good results. On top of that, I'd take the extra time and dedicate each audio track in Pro Tools to a specif...

Re: Life, Production School and New Equipment.

<t>Instead of selling your Fantom, keep it and use the MPC as a master for your sequencing. MIDI your sound modules (including your Fantom) thru the MPC, and if possible, set each instrument up on it's own i/o channel for your editing software...that way you'll have the benefit of your MPC setup, as...

Re: Pattern's Tempo

you can't set tempo or beat changes in pattern mode...only song mode.

The best solution (since I'm assuming that you're doing this live) is to keep the tempo window open, and just tap in the 2nd tempo and play the pattern again...

Re: The ultimate B3 sound search continues...

<t>I sampled the Native Instruments B4 organ for my Fantom, as a multisample...the organ itself is great, but the leslie FX on the board just isn't realistic enough, and I'm also having trouble getting strong lows from the sound...but creating a multisample (I use an FS) was a pretty decent way to g...

^ being objective means you're not trying to sell someone on one piece of gear over another...just present the options and let them decide for themselves...

...just nit-picking. :)
