Re: Syncing Sample loops
I think its possible to use re-trigger via midi to get the sample to repeat in sync. Then there is no need to truncate the sample. I have not tried it though. If the sample is set to non-loop. The only sample editing required then is to truncate the start which is much easy than truncating the end. ...

Re: Audible Noise When Using USB Connection on Boutique Unit
You don't need to run on batteries. This is a very common problem with USB powered audio devices. The USB power creates a ground loop with your audio circuit. This is a very common problem for audio circuits in general. The solution is to get a ground loop isolator. Its a very low cost solution. I u...

Re: Wind (FX) sound - how to get a good one?
Try processing the wind pcms or sns noise through a stereo flanger. It gives a nice stereo image and takes/gives frequencies as it swirls. Sounds more natural to my ears. Also it does not swamp a mix.

Re: FX Pedals
the FA definitely benefits from external effects. I have found that synths using onboard effects suffer from a digitalness as the sound is processed by one cpu tends to become sterile. Sending the Fa through outboard effects produces a more natural sound. I use the Eventide H9 max. Longer Reverbs ar...

new firmware for ju06
I just stumbled on the new firmware update may 2017 ver 1.2. It adds a new control mode. Typically Roland well that's all it says and refers to the new manual. And yep you guessed it. The manual says nothing about it. Has anybody loaded it? What's it do? You know what .... the sooner that behringer ...

Re: New System Program 2.0
Maybe it is not a bug and part of the design. To avoid the sequencer to turn back to measure 1 after editing one data elemt in the microscope, just leave editing a row like you entered editing. This means, cursor right is to select a data element to be edited (i.e. note number or on-velocity) and a...

Re: New Roland Synthesizers to be announced June 20, 2017
Blimey that was quick. The SE02. Its made me think twice about my next synth. Maybe not the Behringer Model D. 3 oscillators and Ladder filter. Storage of programs. Step Sequencer with storage of patch adjustment ala. volca style. It sounds very big. The layout and pots ..... well Mini Moog comes to...

Re: New System Program 2.0
I cant believe Roland about the attitude they have to existing customers. It's quite insulting that they wait for a new release of the fa series to give us this release. I only want one thing from any update they give us which from the sound of things is not mentioned. That is the edit the sequencer...

Re: New Roland Synthesizers to be announced June 20, 2017
I am guessing one will be a boutique as these have sold well for them and its a popular format. Which leaves the old equipment as potentials. TR808 SH101 Jupiter 4 D50 But I would like them to bring out a really good analog that's not pricey. Prefer a mono that's got good bass end. Priced to compete...

Re: System freeze when sequencing
Cool. I extensively use the looping to make sequences in step mode and real for internal and external synths and it works really well in this way even with external gear so its just a technique thing. I have got used to the recording adding a measure at the end so loops go to the last but one measur...

Yeah the PCM tones are utterly wonderful for pads. In fact the most powerful in every possible way.
4 completely seperate synths in one patch! mod matrix, step sequencer LFO like a arturia beat step. Its awesome.

Re: System freeze when sequencing
On the extremely rare occasion that my Fa06 has froze (twice in a year and half of a lot of use) i put it down to missing note off in midi. Which many synths dont like at all (my virus ti has a combi button press actually labelled as panic (lol... german sense of humour). Alas i dont think there is ...

Re: boutique sh on 10 june
yes spot on, thanks. I saw the RD on the roland site. after i put my comment in. Its a shame that the japs dont do what behringer do and give hints. I quite like the B approach to releases. It works too as i wont rush and buy another synth now until i see what Behringer bring out. I am foaming at th...

Re: boutique sh on 10 june
There's a picture of a synth on Roland's facebook page which shows in blur. it does not match any of the formats of their existing synths. A row of pots. Wheel style modulation adjustment. I think its a replacement for the FA .. i'm guessing.

Re: Keyfollow on LFO?
Yeah there's a signature to it. The 2 lfos per patch really make it good for me. The random lfo wave when set to the filter is very unique and it seems to give an organic charachter. Great on leads. Also using it to mod the mod osc frequency in a ring mod setting gives great results. I have to give ...
