Midi File Import - Tempo problem
<t>I have sequenced a song using Cubase but the FG as sound source. The song starts slowly then accelerates in tempo. I have imported it as a SMF into FG8. <br/> Frighteningly ( for performance) when loading up from Favourites it occasionally starts at the wrong tempo - I think it is at the fastest ...

Re: PAD NOTE Settings
Any ideas ?
The transpose won't go low enough for me to get the pad sample sound on the bottom note of the FG8

PAD NOTE Settings
<t>In the PAD SETTINGS, there is a "Pad Note" column - Pad 1 = 59(B3) (not to be confused with the "original key" note). <br/> If you select the Sample zone (7) on the keyboards to ON these are the notes you play on the keyboard to sound the relevant Pad samples. <br/> Question is, how can you chang...

ARX03 in Live Mode? Doits and Falls?
<t>Thinking of buying ARX03 for my FG8. Before I do, I need to know whether you can use the D Beam and S1 switches for "Doits" and "falls" in Live mode (together with other sounds). <br/> The reason I ask is: when using (say) an Organ sound together with Piano/Pads etc on a Live preset you have to h...

Re: midi through USB... is it possible?
The Midi USB drivers should be installed with the CD that came with the FG.
I use the FG8 with my PC (Cubase4) and get the Fantom coming up as an IN/OUT midi option together with my other Steinberg USB and M-Audio Midi ports.

Re: Problem with Sample duration changing with song tempo ch
<t>V-Ceeoh<br/> For info. changing the Time Stretch Type didn't make it better, just worse.<br/> I have just repeated the exercise and Triggering a sample manually from the pad in Live mode is definitely cleaner than dropping it into/ re-recording / triggering it, into the song itself.<br/> Mmmm, od...

Re: Problem with Sample duration changing with song tempo ch
Thanks for all your interest in this. For some reason the glitching is much more obvious if I put the V/O sample in the song?!?
Anyway have a play I am posting the .mid file and the VO.mp3
The V/O should go in at bar 7.

Re: Problem with Sample duration changing with song tempo ch
<t>Flumpster<br/> Your method is better than just inserting the sample into the song- but in my case still unusable. In the song I go from Tempo 130 to 210 in just 3 bars and the glitches on the sample are just silly.<br/> WORKROUND:<br/> The "song" is just an intro to a medley and I take over "live...

MAJOR PROBLEM!
<t>I have tried using USB input - playing in the sample "live".<br/> Guess what? The voice over still gets chopped about during the tempo change!!<br/> I thought, perhaps 'cos it's USB, it's digital, and that's why it doesn't like it - so I redid it using the analogue input; Playing the song, droppi...

Re: Problem with Sample duration changing with song tempo ch
<t>Thank you for your replies.<br/> I guess I'll go down the re-sampling via USB route.<br/> It does seem to be another "snag" with the FG. <br/> I seem to remember that you could "lock" the .wav's on Cubase.<br/> Still, at least there is a workround!<br/> ..... Re: Problem with Sample duration changing with song tempo ch
<t>Any "experts" that can explain/solve my problem?<br/> I need to "lock" the length of the Voice Over .wav sample so that it's timing doesn't change with the tempo changes within the song. Is this possible?<br/> I suppose I could try playing it in on the Line/USB input and re-recording it - but hav...

Problem with Sample duration changing with song tempo change
<t>I'm stuck. I've imported an SMF into a Song. This has rapid tempo increases towards the end. <br/> I have added on an Audio track, a Voice Over .wav announcement timed to the music phrase.<br/> The problem is the imported V/Over sample speeds up when the song tempo changes and sounds clipped and ...
