So is wav/aiff 16bit / 44.1khz samples the only thing you can get into Fantom X?

when I am using SRX-12 in the Piano Mode, it´s fabulous. This morning I´ve wanted to record a track including some EP from SRX-12. It sounded awfully, sort of detuned and cracked sound in the Mixer Mode. Do you have any idea why?
