For me the sequencer is miles better than the mpc as I dont only do hip hop. Just my opinion.

You will be only limited by your own skills mate with the FG. Test out a few keyboards and see what sits best with you.

On the fantom G is there a way of removing clicks at the start of a loop like a cross fade?

It works fantastic also. I have never had an issue with the sound card.
