Rd-300nx no sound

Just picked up a used rd-300nx, but getting no sound through headphones or amp. Everything else seems to work, including midi out (but not midi in). I've done a reset, and I've made sure that Local is on. Anything I'm missing?

When you power it on and select "Edit Layer" and scroll to the right, are the three primary tones for the default piano set for volume, on, etc.? I've been looking through the manual and don't see much else to try. I've heard of folks bricking RD-300nx with failed updates, but there's apparently a way around it. I think something like an op-amp could get zapped by static or a lightning strike and fail. (I had a mixer do that even though it was six feet away from the phone line that carried the energy into the house.) Please let us know what you find out.
