Zenology Pro zoom problems

the new Zenology Pro is a Fantastic Editor and virtual but with a very very great problem in Windows: it is too little in every screen dimension (FullHD, 4K, 1280x1024,..); you can set the zoom equal to 100-125 and only in some cases to 150%; zooms 175% and 200% which would be very useful are disabled (tested with Cubase, Reaper, Camelot and Roland ZenBeat)
The only way to get a decent size is to use very large monitors with low resolutions.... or use windows zoom lens
I hope Roland solves this problem which is also present in other virtuals such as the various SRXs which have slightly larger dimensions

Hi, Benis67! Brian from Roland Cloud here. We did a little research into this. If you open the edit window in Zenology, you'll probably see that it fills most of your available screen space. The scaling factor limit is designed to prevent it from being larger than the available viewing area. On smaller resolution displays, this means you're not going to be able to access the larger zoom factors. Sorry for the inconvenience.

We need to be able to scroll down when it is larger. And it is modal inside the parent window, so it cannot be pulled up to see the bottom of the display. There is a way to make a fix in 2020.

What you are saying is that if you have a small monitor, don’t even bother with Zenology Pro. I don’t think that is the message. It is too good a tool to be minimized by a simple display fix.

BrianMcClelland: I am sending you the shot taken from a 4k monitor at 3840x2160 resolution the best you can get in windows.
Even with the editing window of Zenology Pro open at 100%, there is a lot, a lot of space to manage a higher magnification. You can see it from the shot you find here :-)
The problem is not that of having a low resolution, but that the software miscalculates and disables zooms that it can activate without problems.
Just give the user the choice.
Otherwise you are giving away $ 200 unusable software. There are messages of disappointment everywhere, see the Facebook group Rolandcloud user proof that it is not my problem alone.

I am a new member here (first post here but an old hat elsewhere). FedEx is delivering a Zen-core device to me tomorrow and so I made a Roland Account, installed the Roland Cloud program, and then installed the Zenology Lite program to check it out. Someone over at Elektronauts forum has been playing with Zenology Pro for making sounds for a MC 707, and he told me that he had a difficult time working with Zenology due to the poor (small) scaling of the GUI. He prefers to edit on the MC 707 screen even thought it is fairly small. I figured I would see if I agree, and I am sorry to report that they were absolutely correct. I am stuck at 125% scaling on a 1920x1080p display. My 55-year old eyes can barely make out the smaller text in the GUI, even with specialty glasses with lenses adjusted for mid-field monitor work ("computer glasses").

I would consider buying a Roland Cloud subscription to get Zenology Pro or even buying a lifetime license if it were a useable program, but right now it is a non-starter.

Hi, Gribs! Sorry that you're experiencing this as well. This is a known issue with Zenology Pro, and our dev team is currently working on a fix. I have been informed that a solution for the GUI will be released by the end of the year. We'll let everyone know when the update goes out. Thanks for letting me know!

I wanted to point out that using Cubase 11 on Windows 10, the problem of grainy graphics and impossibility of high zoom has been partially solved.
In my system, dual monitor 4k + FullHD (2°monitor) now it is possible to set zoom = 200% and on FullHD screen the graphics are finally large and even exceed the size of the screen. On the 4k monitor, with 200% graphics are detailed even if they do not fill the screen (250 or 300% mode would be needed).
Still in Cubase 11 in Windows 10 environment, you have the old problems like Cubase10 and other DAWs (impossibility of high zoom and grainy graphics) if you activate the new option "Allow Window to be Resized"
