Is there a way to lock the EXT- Midi out so that using the EXT- Patch has the flashing cursor under the EXT/OUT applicable?

For example when EXT B is selected to go out port 2, and the EXT button is pushed, and then the PGM CHange button is pushed, the flashing cursor in the screen always is under the last used EXT out - In my case I use EXT A and EXT B to control two different soft synths over midi ch 1 and 2 respectively, however if I go from say EXT B back to EXT A and try to send a prgm change I need to also physically press the cursor arrow button to move it back to the EXT A .

As I started - is there a way to lock this into a performance preset?
