Problem with TAP/Tempo

Hey at all

i just got my Sh-201 fey days ago....but there is one really pissing me off-problem...

I connected me SH-201 on a Electribe MX1 (Audio.In, not Midi... because i cant hear drums if midi-in on sh-201 or i cant use the sounds of the sh.201 if its midi in on the electribe....so i choose audio)

Now the problem is (and its the same, when i'm connecting both with midi) that i cant tap the tempo .... example: i have a bassdrum-beat on 140 bpm and i want to record a melody on the same tempo...i_'m taping the tempo and the first 8-16 kicks, its ok... but then i recognize, that surely there's a different of bpm, so that the kicks arent one the same tempo anymore....and i dont know, how i can get my beatmachine and the recording tempo on the same pbm....even if i rec my melody and i try to tap the tempo later....its never on the same level--.----

(i hope theres an answer without using a pc, because i wont use the pc, cause my pc isnt at the same room;))
