MC909 how do I bus the 16 channels out?
Hey chaps, I am a hardware producer in the states and I started producing on my Roland mv 8800 5 years ago, now I use an MC909 in accompaniment. I have been trying to figure out how to use Ableton live to record 16 channels out of the 909. Is this even possible? I'm fluent on midi language and am able to track out all 16 channels from my 909 onto the session view of Ableton but I am not able to bus out each individual channel's audio for mastering in Ableton after Laying down the midi. I guess what I am trying to avoid is using analog gear like an adat to manipulate the levels in each of the 16 channels going into Ableton from my 909 but why didn't roland make the 909 and mv 8800 with 8 individual outputs!!??

If I understood your question correctly, You can direct each of the 16 parts to Direct output 1 or 2. If you route all your 16 parts to, say, Dir1 and then connect the output of Dir1 to your laptop you should be able to record all 16 parts onto Live just fine.
It's what I do at least.
