USB A port question please...
What are opinions on whether Roland will release a firmware update for the RD-88 to allow the USB A port to be a "USB Host" port? IE, so that a user can attach a second keyboard and play the sounds on the RD-88. Yamaha, Kurzweil and ( I think) Korg can do this. Simply hook up the controlle...

I have been playing around with this for a while now, and while I have followed the instructions and tried to set it accordingly I still cannot get expected operation from it. I can get wav files in okay etc, but where I am falling down is in the setting of the correct numbers for alternate sounds, ...

Need help from Roland SPD::ONE series experts...
I have just bought a Roland SPD::ONE WAV - and I am having difficulty in getting imported wav files to sound. I exported the wav from Audacity at the recommended 44khz/16bit format. A short (three second) one shot sample. I checked the advanced.txt file I edited for the new wav against the factory a...

Re: NAMM = ho hum
well I play live left hand bass, right hand keys/guitar/synth parts and also have a audio drum backing track (where needed - I also use foot "stomp-boxes" for simple kick and snare backing) I really cannot see how one can concurrently play five parts at once ;-) AFAIK, Garageband (for exam...

Re: NAMM = ho hum
Well you guys are welcome to it - I get better sounding EP's and AcPianos on my iPad as Quinnx said...so I am away from all these issues now as I have just sold it. Waste of time and money.
Good luck with yours.

Re: NAMM = ho hum
Yes Yamaha have, as have Korg and Roland. And I did say upgrade not just "revisions"
And anyone who says a white motif looks awesome really has some issues.
The OS in the FA has shortcomings and bugs so perhaps you should read a few threads here before jumping on your soapbox ;-)

Re: NAMM = ho hum
TBH, I was not really looking for a new bit of gear, more an upgrade for the OS on the FA series which has some rather glaring omissions/bugs. But I think Roland have adopted the Yamaha (consumer) philosophy of improving firmware/OS only with a new release hardware device. Forcing people to buy new ...

Re: EXP 5 released - Electric Pianos
Sorry to keep raining on the parade, but the samples are fixed for the SN EP's - apart from effects and EQ not much else can be done. It is one of my main issues with the SN EP's. how NON-tweakable they are! I am annoyed by the amount of "bell" and over the top tine effects in pretty much ...
