Re: When will ROLAND release their next Workstation ?
Because I'm likely much older than most of the members here, I've seen most of the changes in synths over the years. ( I used to hang out at the ARP factory!) My best guess is the world economy was a factor in Roland's choice to create the Jupiter 80. Still like using the G live even though reboots ...

Re: a new count down is started, maybe is it the right time
For what ever reason, Roland is inundating me with Jupiter-80 email. I've no interest in the board for a number of reasons (one being the weight) but my primary reason is the handling of the FG series. I looked high and low for a place to e-mail reply as I wanted them to receive my 2-angry-cents on ...

GW:
I use the G7 as a master keyboard.
When purchased, I was the only keyboardist in my weekend gig but since then, we've added a second player so I can play more sax.
I got a good deal on a floor model G6 via Ebay and it's filling the bill for my weekend siutuation.

Re: If your G was stolen or lost would you buy another one?
Wow! Really interesting question. I really enjoy the G6 live as it fits my needs to a T. (My band is a bit unique as I'm in a two keyboard situation and the other keyboardist plays "acoustic piano" and "clav" while I'm the "Rhodes" and "B-3" guy.) Before going...

Re: Fantom G fan club
Okay: Grace is not in the club. I must say, based on Grace's crits, I think a bit more time programming would have solved a number of listed issues. I'm fortunate to work weekends with six consummate musicians. Three of us compose for film and one is also a professor at the Berklee College of Music....

Re: Roland Fantom G6 vs. X6
The older X and newer G series are really apples and oranges. The X, IMO was the pinnacle of the Fantom series. It pretty much got everything right, functionality wise. It had 2 predecessors and Roland took the X to the refined next level. The G series has more bells and whistles but adds only margi...

Fantom G fan club
I've used the G6 and G7 for several years now and follow this group frequently. I've found many of the foibles and shortcomings in the G series but just want to state that I'm still a fan. Previously owned the original FA-76, Fantom X6 and 7 and was a fan of those as well. The X was dead on the mark...

Haven't experienced the issue described. Have you tried copying the patch to a different location?
Could be area 51 thing.
Seriously, would try relocating the patch.

Re: New Roland Workstation during (2011) ?
Sweetwater Sound is the acid test for cutting edge equipment. As soon as gear is outmoded, they drop it like a hot rock. The G series is still on their site and in their catalog.

Re: Wanted! Looking for a G7!!
I've been searching the web for either an X7 or G7 (I've got a G7 in the studio and recommended it.) They are none currently available on Ebay or Craig's List. My take is that you'll need to pay a bit more to get one. I do see a number of dealers still have them but at a premium. Think now that Rola...

AB77:
Bottom line: It's what works for you!
I've got a room full of gear including a Motif Rack. If the G could do it all, I'd have no need for the Motif or the rest of the 1/2 ton of software & hardware.
Best of luck with the new Motif.
Regards,
Tom

<t>AB77:
You fared pretty well as I paid $1575 for my G6 new. Ebay & PayPal take such a large chunk of commision that I now go to Craigs List long before going there.
I'm a veteran of synths and had ARP and Moogs when they first hit the market!
Ouch!
Can truely say that I...
