MFX handling in Fantom-0 scene
I am evaluating to move from my current JunoDS to a Fantom-0 and one thing I would like to know is how is the MFX handling on the Fantom=0. In the JunoDS each tone can have 1 MFX assigned and although you can have up to 16 tones in a single performance (the JunoDS equivalent to Fantom-0 scene), sinc...

Re: How to Sample help please
Yeah, some processes on the JunoDS can be really cumbersome. This is what you need to know about sampling on the JunoDS: a) The available sample memory is rather small; just 32 MB. b) The first step is to load all your individual samples into your keyboard and this can only be done in the keyboard i...

Re: Multiple breath-controlled patches in a single performance
I am afraid the only way to pull that would be to use the SOLO option; you create the performance as usual (all parts mapped to CH 1) and then use the SOLO switch to activate only the patch you want to play at the time.... it would be far better to do it using the pads, but its not possible. Another...

Re: New Fantom-07, System Update BRICKED My Board
Or maybe the severity of your exaggurated accusations did not meet the level of emergency that you wanted. Well, if a bricked keyboard does not qualify as an emergency I don't know what could. And if you find my accusations "exaggerated", try to run a poll here to see how many people had ...

Re: New Fantom-07, System Update BRICKED My Board
I feel for any of you who have had, and will have an issue with your Roland product(s). They simply don't care enough about you as a customer, to do even a mediocre job of which they are charged. It's easy; after they managed to sell their products to you, they just don't care any more. And won't s...

Re: flash drive
On the board itself you can only restore a full backup. On computer, using the Librarian app, you can restore particular patches/performances from external libraries (along those patches are based on the waveforms you have installed on the board at that time).

Re: Trigger Performance Mode via DAW
Your best buddy here is a MIDI monitor app. Just run the app, perform the required operation on your JunoDS and see the message reported at the monitor app. Anyway, here a list of SYSEX messages that can be useful: SET PERFORMANCE MODE: F0 41 10 00 00 3A 12 01 00 00 00 01 7E F7 SET PROGRAM MODE: F0 ...

Re: Patchland for Juno DS / XPS 30
Well, it depends.... if you were on a budget, then JunoDS has one of the best price/value ratio out there... but, altought it comes with many ready-to-use patches, you need to realize that 99% of the times, keyboardists create their own patches from the ones that comes with their keyboards or even u...

Re: JUNO DS, how do you get rotary speaker effect ?
Rotary is applied via MFX... but working with performances you have some thing to take into account: 1) Each patch can have one FX associated to it (for example, rotary effect). 2) A performance can support up to 3 FX at the same time (MFX1, MFX2, MFX3) 3) When you add patch to a performance, if tha...

Re: Roland Juno sound list
Maybe you need to invest more money in a higher level keyboard, perhaps a Yamaha ModX, a Korg Krome Ex or a Roland FA / Fantom-0. Take in consideration that JunoDS is an entry level keyboard with an amazing price-value ratio but based on an outdated sound engine.... you get what you paid for (althou...

Re: Juno DS 76 - Setting for strings slow release with sustain pedal
Not easy questions, for sure. I agree with you; JunoDS is a blast for live playing and performances (combi) creation, but patch editing is not for everybody... not friendly AT ALL.
