a complete newbie's guide to MIDI-in?
Hello there everyone! Today I've made my first foray into the wonderful world of MIDI, however the results are... well, nothing really. To be completely honest I wouldn't have a single clue what I'm doing. What I am at least attempting to do is the following: I have a MIDI track that I've written in...

Re: Fantom X8 and midi (for a complete novice)
Thankyou very much for your reply!
After spending this much on a keyboard I figure I might start getting some more of its potential out of it.
Steep learning curve, here I come!

Fantom X8 and midi (for a complete novice)
<r>Hello everyone!<br/> <br/> I've had my X8 for quite some time but I've never really done anything more than play songs on it. So now I want to start learning about the millions of other functions it's got under the hood, but to be honest the owner's manual is somewhat confusing me at the moment.<...

Re: Line out only gives me left channel
<r>Thankyou for your reply.<br/> I actually found out that was the problem just before you wrote that. THe cables I was using didn't seem to work in stereo. I assumed that using one cable for left and one for right would have the same effect, but apparently not.<br/> <br/> I've recorded in stereo no...

Re: Line out only gives me left channel
Plugging headphones into the keyboard works fine. I thought the problem may have been my keyboard, but then I plugged it directly into the computer's speakers, bypassing the computer and sound card completely. I'll see if I can find something else to connect to the computer's line in to see if that ...

Line out only gives me left channel
<t>Let me just say first off that I have no idea about how to record stuff properly. But I'm determined to give it a try anyway! I don't have any fancy inputs and mixing doohickeys, so all I have is the 3.5mm "line in" jack in the back of my computer (Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS).<br/> Problem is that...

Melotron
<r>Fairly simple question. I was just wondering if there is a melotron of some description available on the Fantom X8? I can't for the life of me find one, but with SO many instruments I'd assume there's one hiding in all those patches somewhere. Maybe in one of the expansion boards? I'm after the t...

Fantom X8 going out of tune :-(
<t>Today I was playing my X8 and it has randomly been detuning itself. I can be playing as normal and suddenly everything will tune down a semitone. Then sometime it will sound just the tiniest bit off, so it sounds ugly. If I change instrument then sometimes it will go back into tune, then after a ...
